Our Faith
Wouldn’t you like to know how the Bible answers this question?
There is a word that can be used to answer this question: F – A – I – T – H
F is for Forgiveness
We must have God’s forgiveness to have eternal life in heaven.
“In Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins”-Ephesians 1:7
A is for Available
Forgiveness is available for everyone, for you and for me.
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that means you and me, that He gave His only Son, Jesus, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life”
But, forgiveness is not automatic.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven but he that does the will of my father”-Matt. 7:21
I is for Impossible
It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven. God is love. Remember -John 3:16
Because God loves us He is also just.
“His judgment is without mercy”-James 2:13a
Man is sinful.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” -Romans 3:23
But how can we enter heaven where God allows no sin?
T is for Turn
Turn means repent. We have to turn (repent) from sin and self.
“Unless you repent you will all likewise perish”-Luke 13:3b
We must turn to Jesus and Jesus only.
The Bible tells us that
“Christ died for our sins, He was buried and He rose again the third day” -1Corin 15:3b-4
The Bible also tells us that
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” -Rom 10:9
H is for Heaven. Heaven is eternal life
Heaven Here and Now. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly”-John 10:10
By knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior you can immediately have His comfort and peace by knowing that you have the free gift of eternal life!
Heaven Hereafter. Jesus said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also”-John 14:3
How. How can a person receive God’s forgiveness, and have eternal life in heaven?
By accepting Jesus as personal Savior & Lord and asking Him for forgiveness.
Remember,
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”-Rom 10:9
Maybe life has come to a crossroads for you, maybe you have hit rock bottom, or maybe you are at the top and think that you need nothing more. The emptiness you feel inside, the despair, is your need for Jesus. Jesus doesn’t only meet your need for a Savior, but will be your closest friend.
Understanding what you have just read, would you like to receive forgiveness by trusting in Christ as your personal Savior and Lord?
Simply take a step of faith and pray the following prayer with all of your heart:
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have displeased You in many ways. I believe You died for my sin and only through faith in Your death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen.
